The design for this remote teahouse displays a framing rigour. The user is guided through the space through the hierarchy of walls, commencing with solid, leading onto screen areas which give glimpses of the view, and finally the translucency of glass reveals the entire view in the tea drinking area. The building is raised above the ground to maximise the view. The use of timber cladding and columns evokes the trunks of the surrounding trees which shelter the teahouse.
